Calling for your donations to the fete

Preparations for the village fete are well underway. As always, your donations for good quality items to sell on our popular stalls are important and gratefully received, as well as raffle and tombola prize contributions.

DONATION DROP-OFF POINT The scout hut opposite the village shop is open from 1 July as a drop-off point for donations (unless contact is requested). Please leave items under the gazebo in front of the hut.

BOOKS GALORE The book tent attracts a lot of visitors and raises significant funds. A lot of effort by Lizanne Brown and her team goes into sorting these in the weeks before the fete so the earlier you can drop them off the better. Call to arrange drop off to scout hut: Lizanne Brown 242908

BRIC-A-BRAC TREASURES This fabulous stall attracts the great and the good to browse and buy your pre-loved goodies. Please turn out your cupboards again - and donate your unwanted items. Anything from fabric to crockery; Ming vases to figurines; and everything in between! Maggy Hoyt 240700

JEWELLERY Please dig out your unwanted jewellery for a happy home on the stall. Call to arrange drop off to Balmoral Cottage: Charlotte Molesworth 240308

CHIC BOUTIQUE Gather your good quality ball gowns, frocks, suits, jackets, coats, and even those 1970s flares you always meant to wear again but have oddly shrunk and help them find a new owner by donating them to the fete.

TOOLS-R-US Ed and David are after your unwanted tools for this extremely popular stall. It doesn?t matter how old or ugly they are, they will find a home, especially garden and woodworking tools. Call to arrange delivery: Ed Sarton 240346

SILENT AUCTION This is always very popular and once again we are looking for items or services to be donated please. In the past they have included cases of wine, a week in a villa, website development, taxi rides, O2 concert box, fly fishing, bird watching and much more. Offers of donations to: Cathy Presgrave

CHILDREN'S AREA The PTFA is running the many attractions in the children's area, and alongside the fun stalls will sell good condition children?s games, toys, books, clothes and costumes. So donations of these are very welcome.

DONATE YOURSELF TOO! We also need people to help on the day please. The more the merrier to give as little or as much time as you can spare. It could be helping on a stall, collecting donations, selling raffle tickets or coordinating parking.

Just an hour or two between 12-4pm would be fantastic.
