The Alpha Course - it's starting this month!

I wrote about the Alpha Course back in the July edition of the Village Magazine. Here we are, two months later, and the course is just about to start. Where did those two months go? And what about the result of the Ashes Test series then?! I didn't expect that when I was writing about the sports-packed summer in the magazine last month!

Have you given the idea of coming on the Alpha Course any more thought? It starts with an Invitation Supper on Wednesday 9th September - 7:30pm, at the Mission Church, Back Road, Sandhurst. TN18 5JU. It runs weekly until the end of November - same time, same place; with a meal, a different speaker each week, and space to talk, discuss, ask questions, work out your answers, or simply listen.

It is a great way to explore some of the big questions of life that we all struggle with - if we give them space and thought in our minds rather than ignoring them! Alpha really is for everyone, wherever you are on your life/faith journey.

• If you've just come to faith, and are burning with excitement about it - you will learn something of your relationship with God
• If you've been coming to church for years and years, I'll bet there are still questions of life and death and faith that you'd still like to sort out answers to in your own mind - talking/listening at Alpha could help you
• If you think you've got stale in your faith and want to learn afresh what faith is all about, and be encouraged to pray and read the Bible - Alpha will help
• If you've not much idea what the Christian faith and The Church is all about - Alpha is a good starting point
• If you've no faith or belief in God but wonder what Christians believe in and why - come along and find out
• If you're thinking about Confirmation in the universal Church - Alpha would be a good way of preparing for this

Now might be the right time for you to face those questions - those big questions of life - the ones that we all should consider at some point; the questions of life (and death) that we should not ignore; the questions that we may have made a decision on 40/50 years ago, but now have second thoughts on - come along to Alpha on the 9th September; give it a go. You'll get good food, you might make new friends, and I hope you'll enjoy the speakers and the discussions.
